Why do I need lessons, can’t a friend or parent teach me?
A parent or friend could certainly teach you, unfortunately most drivers will pick up bad habits over their time, and laws often change, A driving instructor is trained to help you learn in a low pressure environment with added safety measures to make sure you feel completely confident as you start out on your journey. Debbie also worked as a testing officer for seven years and therefore knows exactly what you need to know to pass your restricted and full licenses.
I don’t have a car, can I use yours?
Absolutely, you can use mine for lessons and your testing. For learners licenses, we would typically do at least the first few lessons in my car. It has added safety measures to ensure that you can start your driving journey on the right foot.
If you are wanting to use my car to sit your licensing testing, you can absolutely do so, just book it through the booking system on my website.
You say you’re a neurodiversity friendly instructor what does that mean?
Debbie did additional training to meet students with different neurodiversity needs, autism, ADHD, dyslexia through the Autism Driver Training Centre.
This means she is able to customize her lessons to make sure your needs are being met to go forward in this journey.
I run a group for neurodivergent people could you offer a group talk?
Debbie absolutely available to talk to groups or classes about things to consider before getting ready to move forward on your driving journey, expectations of the testing involved and what instructors and testers are looking for. This can help anxious teens or adults feel more comfortable with the level of testing involved in becoming a safe driver. Just drop me a line in the contact me section on my website.
I am a particularly anxious person, how can you help me feel comfortable driving?
Everyone has different needs for their driving lessons, at our first lesson Debbie can talk to you about what your needs are and work with you about how to meet them in a safe way to help you feel secure while you learn to drive.
